The outdoor lighting working environment is more complex and affected by natural conditions such as temperature, ultraviolet ray, humidity, rainy days, dust, chemical gases, etc. Over time, it will lead to serious problems such as LED light fade. In addition, the power consumption of the LED due to the voltage drop of the LED and the silicon rectifier diode may seriously affect the operation of the LED and even cause it to be damaged. So the excellent heat dissipation design is the key point that must be considered.

(1) Lamp cover design selection. Currently used are transparent glass, organic glass, PC materials and so on. In general, the lampshades of outdoor lamps are preferably conventional glass products.

(2) Outdoor LED chip packaging technology. i. Currently, domestic LED lamps (mainly street lamps) are mostly assembled using 1W LED strings and parallel connections. This method has a high “thermal resistance” and low lamp grade. Ii. Module Assembly: Use 30W, 50W or even larger modules for assembly to achieve the required power. These LEDs are encapsulated in epoxy resin and packaged in silicone. Epoxy resin encapsulation has poor temperature resistance, and it is easy to age for a long time. Silicone encapsulation has good temperature resistance. The module substrate is generally a copper substrate so as to be coupled with an external heat sink. The flatness of both planes is required to be high, and the use of good thermal grease ensures that the heat on the copper substrate can be transferred to the external radiator in time. Iii, multi-chip package: The use of multi-chip and heat sink overall package is better, or use aluminum substrate multi-chip package and then connected with the radiator. This package has the lowest thermal resistance and is more conducive to heat dissipation.

(3) Outdoor LED lamp radiator is a key component of the lamp. Its shape, size, and heat sink surface area must be designed to achieve the benefits. Secondly, the seal of the radiator and the lampshade should be waterproof and dustproof. Between the lampshade and the radiator, an anti-aging rubber mat or silicone rubber mat should be placed, and it should be fastened with stainless steel bolts.
